Inspiration behind Woodland Tales Children's Wallpaper 🦡🐁🌿
Without a doubt, Beatrix Potter's stories & characters were hugely influential when I created my illustrations for my Woodland Tales wallpaper. My boys used to be obsessed with Peter Rabbit & Squirrel Nutkin. Just after we got married, we moved to Neuchâtel in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Making this print brought back nice memories of going to language lessons and tandem exchanges. This story goes back a few years and it goes to show that you just don’t know where a chat over coffee will take you! A few years ago, I was chatting with Rachel, owner and founder of Totseat, about my wallpaper designs. She asked, on the off-chance, if I’d like to try designing a pattern for them, one based around cute fruit and vegetables. Fast forward to now… the pattern has been printed and turned into these brilliantly practical fabric chairs. And have you spotted Totseat's personalised print in their photos?!
