About Jo Martin & Little Letter Studio

Little Letter Studio Jo Martin
Jo Martin, founder and creator of Little Letter Studio, grew up in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

She moved to London to study Sculpture at Wimbledon School of Art and Academia Albertina, Turin. After graduating, Jo stayed in London for 16 years and worked at a leading Fine Art Publisher.

Following the chance purchase of a set of original, mid-century, letterpress type whilst living in Switzerland, and the birth of her first son, Jo began making and designing alphabet paintings for children, some of which can be viewed below.

Jo's collection of original type grew as did her desire to create Little Letter Studio, which is a culmination of Jo’s love of print, her Fine Art Publishing career, and her role as a parent.

Jo now lives in Edinburgh with her husband and two sons.
